TAMDAR data outage

Greetings,

I have just been informed by AirDat that they are going to be relocating some of their servers to a new datacenter. Unfortunately, they won't be able to maintain connectivity to GSD during the move, so TAMDAR data will be unavailable to us starting on 12 March. It will resume sometime during "the week of 3/16".

During the outage, TAMDAR will still be used in the operational RUC, because AirDat's operational feed to NCEP will continue. But it will not be available on the GSD AMDAR display, nor in our MADIS data feeds.

Longer term, please be aware that AirDat and NWS are in negotiations regarding future TAMDAR availability, but these negotiations have not yet been concluded.
