AMDAR-Rapid Refresh comparisons

Greetings TAMDAR forum subscribers, Comparisons between AMDAR (aircraft) data and the Rapid Refresh model are now available at http://amdar.noaa.gov/RR_amdar/. These pages, which are linked from the GSD AMDAR display (http://amdar.noaa.gov/), provide hourly comparisons over all of North America (the Rapid Refresh domain), including Alaska. Summary and interactive statistics for data more than 48 hours old are available to all; plan-view of RR-AMDAR differences are restricted to those with access to real-time aircraft data. This extends the geographic range of the AMDAR-RUC comparisons (http://amdar.noaa.gov/ruc_acars/), and provides the first hourly model-AMDAR comparisons beyond the RUC domain. (World-wide AMDAR-GFS comparisons remain available for every 3 hours at http://amdar.noaa.gov/gfs_amdar/.) As always, please let me know if you encounter any issues or oddities with these new products. -Bill
