All TAMDARS in Higher Resolution Pressure Mode

We have decided to put the entire Mesaba fleet in the higher resolution pressure ascent mode. TAMDAR will put out observations every 10 mbar for the first 200 mbar. (We call it the "fun mode.") The descent mode will remain at 10 mbar observations for the last 100 mbar. Altitudes above these levels are currently set to trigger at 50 mbar intervals. It should be remembered that TAMDAR also has a time default mode (currently set to 3 min below 20 kft, 7 min above) that may trigger additional observations in between the pressure observations if the plane levels off. Icing events will also trigger observations. These should not affect the pressure based obs; the effect will be to only add additional obs. This can be done with a remote command and will probably be accomplished today. As usual, any feedback, good or bad, is appreciated. Enjoy! Dan Mulally AirDat
